Thanks Aunt Carla for the memory! I have pictures somewhere of that event. Chuck, (Dr. Wilson) over 6 feet tall and Fordo, under 3 feet tall running 3-4 miles and never even giving a thought to quitting. (Not a word that has ever been in his vocabulary.) His little legs were probably "fried" but he had a goal and he would reach it! Great memory about both of them! Do you remember that run Fordo? One of your beginnings, I am certain. Thanks for the Blog Fordo.. It was geat to hear from you! I know your time is limited! As I mentioned in the last blog ,I really need to hear your voice! The one message I have is about worn out. Is there anything we can do for the abused dogs and cats over there? ??? a good bag of nutitious dog food? Vitamins. If you find one you love Dad and I will help with the expense of bringing it home. All of your family would participate. We are such animal lovers...and Baylor could use a BFF!! He has one down the street. but it isn't be the same as a house mate:) Aunt Judy and I are planning another cookie box. Do you want only cream wafers? I guess the peanut butter got a little stale? Anyway.. I love you and can't wait for your return. You make me proud Son. Mom

'Running'

Over the weekend Stosh, Sheri, Mom and I went to dinner at La Bistro in Stockton. We were saying what fun it would be to bring Ford and Kate and Tom and Corliss to this really neat place. One thing led to another in the conversation and we started talking about Dayton, the mill, Dad, etc. An incident came to me that I want to share and it may lend some insight into the psychie of my nephew Ford.

Chuck (my deceased husband) and I were in Dayton visiting. Corliss and Tom were there (I think they lived in Sheridan at the time) with the children. We were planning a picnic over at the mill because it is on the Tongue River and had a special place that Dad liked to go and cook out. Chuck was an avid 'runner' and decided he would run to the mill instead of riding in dad's van. Ford decided he would run with Uncle Chuck (I think he was about 3 years old). Chuck told him he could run with him but he would have to keep up (thinking, I'm sure, that Ford would go a short distance and then ride the rest of the way). Well, to every one's surprise Ford ran the whole way. He would say to Chuck "I'm a little ahind Unka Chuck but I'll catch up". Chuck, of course, slowed his pace so Ford stayed fairly close to him. We all followed in the van with Dad laughing all the way to the mill. I remember over the years talking with Chuck about those things and that particular incident always brought a big smile to his face. I think that 'run' defines my nephew and the type of dedicated individual he is today.

Love,

Auntie Carla

Memorial Fund information

I called the wife of the fallen soldier to give our sympathy and was given information about a memorial fund for her and the kids. If anyone wants this information, email me (shannafletcher@hotmail.com) and I'll send it to you.
Much love,
Shanna
I picked Tehya up after work this evening and went to buckle her in the car and she said "just a second, just a second" as she pushed her way out of the car seat. "What?" I asked her. "I have to take my clothes off first" as she proceeds to strip even her panties off and get buckled up bare ass naked for the ride home.......at least she gives us something to laugh at. Congrats, Tara & Zimmie! God bless Ford & Kate!
According to Shanna, the most often heard phrase today at Tehya's day care/pre-school was...."Tracy, Tehya is naked again."

Congratulations!

Congratulations Zimmy and Tara. You are an awesome couple. Hope to see you sometime soon.
You are always welcome in California.

Love,

Auntie Carla

Congratulations!!!!!

Tara and Zimmy. It was awesome talking to both of you today. Tara and I were talking about how many amazing things have happened in our lives in a short period of time, and how excited we are to see what the future holds.

Royce...right after I got off the phone with you after not talking to you on the phone for 6 months or more....my very next customer was Linda and Paul Zimmerman....and I haven't talked to a Zimmerman in 3 years of being at this dealership...Wierd huh?...maybe you guys are related. Paul and Linda weren't sure? Do a little research for me Bro.

I look forward to the event, and you can count on at me, Shanna, BeauBeau, and Tehya being there.

I'm guessing there will be plenty of Lannan's there to support you both

Something about being in the Colorado mountains around the holiday period is appealing to me.

Fordo.....Godspeed my brother. I love you with all my heart and send you and your boys positive energy and prayer every day.

Peace

After hours of scholarly research in the Historical Cape Cod Street Registry, I feel confident in offering the following interpretation. When you get to KATIE FORD RD., you don't need to 'look' any further. YOU ARE HOME!!

P.S. Congrats to Zimmie. Godspeed to Tara.

Hmmmm....

Team Zimmerman took this while vacationing in Cape Cod......... Not entirely sure if it's good news or bad news!

Congratulations!!!!

For those of you who haven't heard yet...Royce has asked Tara to marry him and she said yes!

The Details: Royce re-created the first date and arranged for friends, family and co-workers to be there afterwards - perfection. The ring is a 3-stone to represent, Royce, Tara & her daughter Avery as a family. Royce will be relocating from Chicago to Denver next Summer and the wedding is planned for NYE '09 - pics to come soon!

Oh, speaking of tunes, how 'bout you and Kate do a little singin'/guitar thing at our wedding?  That'd be awesome, right?  RIGHT?

Mountain Holstein

Hey Fordo!
Hope this message finds you well and in good spirits.
I was watching the Discovery Channel yesterday and found an amazing special on a rare breed of mountain goat / indigenous dog to Middle-Eastern mountain climates, The Mountain Holstein. A private and elusive beast, very little is known about its habits, mannerisms, temperament, or intelligence. Researchers had never before been able to capture the animal on film, relying mostly on firsthand local's accounts, until two months ago when an embedded journalist had the opportunity in an un-disclosed location. The Discovery Chanel featured a 2-hour special and Discovery.com carried feature photos and the journalist's blog entries to match.

The reporter's account consisted mostly of excitement when he first saw and recognized the animal, quickly turning to bewilderment and fear as he got closer. The reporter said "I was amazed by his weight, size, complete lack of grace, yet uninhibited charm."

Thought you would like. Stay Safe. And keep your eyes peeled.

Ya, yesterday was a pretty amazing experience- comparing with Blayne in the church where we all were 3 years ago and how much our life has changed. God works miracles in our lives each and every day. We have recently learned we just have to have enough "prescence" to see them and acknowledge them. For most of our lives, as with most people, we lived part in minds (in the past & future) and part in the present. A lot of things pass us by when we live this way. Today, we are blessed enough to be working everyday toward living in this new way and are even able to learn from & appreciate our struggles as we are experiencing them, knowing they are for a greater purpose. AND that everything is exactly as it is supposed to be ( as I have written this I have been interrupted by kids 4 times). We are getting exceptional practice at this these days as we deal with custody issues and extra kids (smile).

I brought Beau and his friend out to the Lake where Jill & Paul were camping yesterday and picked up Kyleigh (she had camped with them the night before) and Paul took Tehya on the tube with Noah & Kyleigh and they dumped immediately (going too slow to get the tube out of the water). You should've seen Tehya's face-priceless. She told Blayne & I last night she was afraid the sharks were going to get her. She swam her behind off back to the boat!

Ford-we miss you and are STILL praying for you! Look forward to your return & Mexico together. I love you!
Love to all our family too!

A letter to my family...and my new family

Shanna, Tehya, and I just spent the past hour, lying on our back deck, staring at the night sky. We decided to "camp out" tonight. I couldn't sleep and was inspired to write, so here goes.

I delivered the "sermon,"...what I would rather call a message to a non-denomianational church community here in Olympia today. The president and I met by "coincidence" about a year ago, after she read a copy of my manuscript.

A month ago, she approached me and asked me if I would be willing to share, and I humbly accepted.

As I was sitting in their "nursury" in a rocking chair with Tehya before the service, I was humbled again as I recalled my life just 3 years earlier to the date, on 7-20-05.

This was the second day in detox, and one day prior to the 28 day treatment program I completed in Seattle. I cried a little bit as I sat with Tehya, because quite frankly on 7-18-05, I didn't believe I was going to make it to my 41st birthday.

I left that facility 29 days later with a vow to myself, and my family to never put them through it again. They had heard it many times before and i'm sure were very skeptical.

My message to the community was pretty simple. We are all born with pure potential. We all have "divinity" within us. No "one" is more important than another. We all have the ability to achieve greatness. We Limit ourselves, and sometimes we get caught up on lableing folks. In the end, I didn't believe I was worthy of success. I see much clearer now.

For those of you who never met the old blayner...good job you!!...For my family that was affected by my insanity. Beau and Tehya- Thanks for giving me a reason when I couldn't find anything within myself. Dad- Thanks for challenging me. Fordo- Thanks for not giving up on me. Mom- Thanks for stopping enableing me. Gramma- Thank you for loving me, and smiling at me, and hugging me...no matter what. Aunt Carla- Thanks for listening to me. Uncle Chuck- Thanks for not judging me. Aunt Sherrie and Uncle Stosh- Thanks for giving me another chance. Jill- Thanks for teaching me, and listening to me. Shanna- Thanks for sticking with me. I can't wait to have the opportunity to return the favor.

Thank you for allowing me to share openly. Openness and honesty in communication with family and friends is a value of mine nowadays. There is a little saying I learned long ago that says, "you are only as sick as your secrets." I believe it

I guess thats enough out of me. I look forward in anticipation to the next three years of our lives. Fordo...I see HALO jumps in exotic places in our future...with a civilian rig though.

If you are curious...Google "The Law of Attraction." It works in my life, and I see tangible proof consistantly.

FORDO.....I am so proud of you brother...You amaze me...and you will always be one of my heroes.

OK, I'm now addicted to "uploading!" You have to admit this is a good photo!

Fallen Soldier

Kate: Just read the blog about another of our fallen soldier's. Tell me what I can do? I will help with any thing I can.

Ford - I love you to distraction and pray for your safety every day. I know you are where you need to be right now and those with you are fortunate to have you there.

I love you all,

Auntie Carla

Almost as good as a double meat SUB! the boy has always liked his food!

I am so very sad to hear of the death and injury of the soldiers. Kate, please let me know if I can be of any assistance. I will do anything that I can. Fordo.. I won't worry more. I know that would only stress you out. I understand what you signed up to do. Please take care of yourself and your team. Thanks for all you do! Kate.. Thank you for your work with the military families and being there in support of the wife and children of the latest fallen soldier. I know your ability to plan organize and implement. You are pretty amazing. Beau just left for home. I could have him here 365 days a year and it wouldn't be enough! His mom and dad have a problem with that concept..So I have to settle for a few days a year. (JB and Blayne I hope you are doing some guilt!:) He is truly a great kid. You guys "done good." Love to All..

Fallen Soldier...

Due to the public nature of this blog & for the security of those involved, I am unable to go into more detail, however, it is with deep sorrow that I report the following:

We have suffered the loss of one of our Soldiers, who was killed in Iraq. His wife and 5 children are coping the best they can at this time.

2 others on the team were injured and have been taken out of country where their wives have been flown to meet them.

There is still much unknown, we are working as quickly as possible to get information and resources to those in need.

The “Army Family” is in full force and the outpouring of support is like nothing I have ever witnessed. Please keep the soldiers & the families in your prayers.

Hey Forder,
Loved the pic from the hot tub. Those hats are sweeet. I remember that night - kind of. Irish car bombs and the fateful trip to the Wasilla Bar - only to end in "let's decorate JB tonight." Your time will come my dear. Heading up to Seattle to pick up Beau from the airport. After 9 days with granny and gramps including a fishing trip with Uncle Rick (dear Jesus what did he learn?) I suspect he'll be back in Jill Lannan's reindoctrination program ASAP. We miss you and count the days until your return. In the new house now awaiting the fence so we can bring Big Ranger, Xena and Jesse over. A house without a dog really sucks. Hoping to get your beautiful wife camping this weekend. Miss you dearly and pray for your safety. Fashion police are gonna get your over that stash....love you so, so much.
JB

Double Meat...

Hey Fordo,

It was great to hear your voice on the 4th. I'm sure it felt kind of like speed dating having to talk to all those people in a row but you sounded in good spirits...it's probably because of your money mustache and the "street cred" it gets you.

I had a "Ford moment" the other day that I've got to share. Told it to Kate over the 4th and she got a pretty big kick out of it.

I'm not sure if you remember the FireHouse Sub Shop by Kate's old house but you and I hit it one time on the way to the rock climbing gym. I found myself in there the other day and when I placed my order, the girl behind the counter asked me "would you like double meat on that?". I replied "no" but all of a sudden your voice popped into my headed and said...

"Mike..........Dude..........no double meat? Common'....."

I start laughing out loud and the girl behind the counter is looking at me like I'm off my med's or something. I get it together and tell her I like to live on the edge so go ahead and throw it on there. FYI...she didn't find that funny either. Suffice to say, I took down the whole sub and was contemplating taking up bulimia as I thought my stomach was going to explode in the parking lot.

Good memories of you that put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. Hope you are well and as always....THANKS!!!!!!!

Thanks for being a sheep dog Fordo!!!

"The letter that follows was written by Charles Grennel and his comrades who are veterans of the global war on terror. Grennel is an Army Reservist who spent two years in Iraq and was a principal in putting together the first Iraq elections, January of 2005. It [this letter] was written to Jill Edwards, a student at the University of Washington who did not want to honor WW-II Congressional Medal of Honor winner USMC Colonel Gregory Boyington who was a graduate of subject university. Jill Edwards and other students (and faculty) do not think those who serve in the U.S. armed services are good role models.
============================================================================ To: Edwards, Jill (student, UW)
Subject: Sheep, Wolves and Sheepdogs
Miss Edwards, I read of your "student activity" regarding the proposed memorial to Col. Greg Boyington, USMC and a Medal of Honor winner. I suspect you will receive a bellyful of angry e-mails from conservative folks like me. You may be too young to appreciate fully the sacrifices of generations of servicemen and servicewomen on whose shoulders you and your fellow students stand. I forgive you for the untutored ways of youth and your naiveté. It may be that you are, simply, a sheep. There's no dishonor in being a sheep - - as long as you know and accept what you are.
William J. Bennett, in a lecture to the United States Naval Academy November 24, 1997 said: "Most of the people in our society are sheep. They are kind, gentle, productive creatures who can only hurt one another by accident." We may well be in the most violent times in history, but violence is still remarkably rare. This is because most citizens are kind, decent people who are not capable of hurting each other, except by accident or under extreme provocation. They are sheep.
Then there are the wolves and the wolves feed on the sheep without mercy. Do you believe there are wolves out there who will feed on the flock without mercy? You better believe it. There are evil men in this world and they are capable of evil deeds. The moment you forget that or pretend it is not so, you become a sheep. There is no safety in denial.
Then there are sheepdogs and I'm a sheepdog. I live to protect the flock and confront the wolf. If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens, then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the unchartered path. Someone who can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.
We know that the sheep live in denial; that is what makes them sheep. They do not wan t to believe that there is evil in the world. They can accept the fact that fires can happen, which is why they want fire extinguishers, fire sprinklers, fire alarms and fire exits throughout their kids' schools. But many of them are outraged at the idea of putting an armed police officer in their kid's school. Our children are thousands of times more likely to be killed or seriously injured by school violence than fire, but the sheep's only response to the possibility of violence is denial. The idea of someone coming to kill or harm their child is just too hard, and so they chose the path of denial.
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog must not, cannot and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheep dog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours. Still, the sheepdog disturbs the sheep. He is a constant reminder that there are wolves in the land. They would prefer that he didn't tell them where to go, or give them traffic tickets, or stand at the ready in our airports, in camouflage fatigues, holding an M-16. The sheep would much rather have the sheepdog cash in his fangs, spray paint himself white, and go, "Baa." Until the wolf shows up. Then the entire flock tries desperately to hide behind one lonely sheepdog.
The students, the victims, at Columbine High School were big, tough high school students, and under ordinary circumstances they would not have had the time of day for a police officer. They were not bad kids; they just had nothing to say to a cop. When the school was under attack, however, and SWAT teams were clearing the rooms and hallways, the officers had to physically peel those clinging, sobbing kids off of them.
This is how the little lambs feel about their sheepdog when the wolf is at the door. Look at what happened after September 11, 2001 when the wolf pounded hard on the door. Remember how America more than ever before, felt differently about their law enforcement officers and military personnel? Understand that there is nothing morally superior about being a sheepdog; it is just what you choose to be. Also understand that a sheepdog is a funny critter. He is always sniffing around out on the perimeter, checking the breeze, barking at things that go bump in the night, and yearning for a righteous battle. That is, the young sheepdogs yearn for a righteous battle. The old sheepdogs are a little older and wiser, but they move to the sound of the guns when needed, right along with the young ones.
Here is how the sheep and the sheepdog think differently. The sheep pretend the wolf will never come, but the sheepdog lives for that day. After the attacks on September 11, 2001, most of the sheep, that is, most citizens in America said, "Thank God I wasn't on one of those planes." The sheepdogs, the warriors, said, "Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference." You want to be able to make a difference. There is nothing morally superior about the sheepdog, the warrior, but he does have one real advantage. Only one. And that is that he is able to survive and thrive in an environment that destroys 98 percent of the population.
There was research conducted a few years ago with individuals convicted of violent crimes. These cons were in prison for serious, predatory crimes of violence: assaults, murders and killing law enforcement officers. The vast majority said that they specifically targeted victims by body language: slumped walk, passive behavior and lack of awareness. They chose their victims like big cats do in Africa , when they select one out of the herd that is least able to protect itself. Some people may be destined to be sheep and others might be genetically primed to be wolves or sheepdogs. But I believe that most people can choose which one they want to be, and I'm proud to say that more and more Americans are choosing to become sheepdogs.
Seven months after the attack on September 11, 2001, Todd Beamer was honored in his hometown of Cranbury , New Jersey . Todd, as you recall, was the man on Flight 93 over Pennsylvania who called on his cell phone to alert an operator from United Airlines about the hijacking. When they learned of the other three passenger planes that had been used as weapons, Todd and the other passengers confronted the terrorist hijackers. In one hour, a transformation occurred among the passengers - athletes, business people and parents -- from sheep to sheepdogs and together they fought the wolves, ultimately saving an unknown number of lives on the ground.
There is no safety for honest men except by believing all possible evil of evil men." - Edmund Burke. Here is the point I like to emphasize, especially to the thousands of police officers and soldiers I speak to each year. In nature the sheep, real sheep, are born as sheep. Sheepdogs are born that way, and so are wolves. They didn't have a choice. But you are not a critter. As a human being, you can be whatever you want to be. It is a conscious, moral decision. If you want to be a sheep, then you can be a sheep and that is okay, but you must understand the price you pay. When the wolf comes, you and your loved ones are going to die if there is not a sheepdog there to protect you. If you want to be a wolf, you can be one, but the sheepdogs are going to hunt you down and you will never have rest, safety, trust or love. But if you want to be a sheepdog and walk the warrior's path, then you must make a conscious and moral decision every day to dedicate, equip and prepare yourself to thrive in that toxic, corrosive moment when the wolf comes knocking at the door.
This business of being a sheep or a sheep dog is not a yes-no dichotomy. It is not an all-or-nothing, either-or choice. It is a matter of degrees, a continuum. On one end is an abject, head-in-the-sand-sheep and on the other end is the ultimate warrior. Few people exist completely on one end or the other. Most of us live somewhere in between.
Since 9-11 almost everyone in America took a step up that continuum, away from denial. The sheep took a few steps toward accepting and appreciating their warriors, and the warriors started taking their job more seriously. It is okay to be a sheep, but do not kick the sheep dog. Indeed, the sheep dog may just run a little harder, strive to protect a little better and be fully prepared to pay an ultimate price in battle and spirit with the sheep moving from "baa" to "thanks".
We do not call for gifts or freedoms beyond our lot. We just need a small pat on the head, a smile and a thank you to fill the emotional tank which is drained protecting the sheep. And when our number is called by "The Almighty", and day retreats into night, a small prayer before the heavens just may be in order to say thanks for letting you continue to be a sheep. And be grateful for the thousands - -millions - - of American sheepdogs who permit you the freedom to express even bad ideas

Love you Fordo,
Glad I've got some back-up,
Uncle Stosh

Hey Buddy!

Fordo,

Not a lot of time this evening but I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you. Everything went well with the operation as you already know. Now it's just a shoulder (maybe both) and I'm done.

Didn't really think I'd be saying this after 27 years of doing it... but I'm most SOOOO ready to retire and go do something else. Hopefully one of these days I'll figure what that "something" else is.

Anyway buddy, stay safe and know that we think about you all the time. I'll write this weekend when I've got a few more minutes.

Love ya,
Uncle Stosh

hey ya kid

Just thinking about you. I had a patient the other day...first MD to perform a lumpectomy for breast cancer. He was almost 90, cantankerous, feisty, and my new best friend. We shot the bull during our visit speaking spanish, german, and then finally french (that part I could contribute to). I asked him if he wanted a full body exam and he exclaimed "No damn way, this is the ugliest naked body you'd ever see!" He was also wearing a flawless three piece suit. The next day he sent me a beautiful bouquet of roses and daisies...so apparently my smart assed-ness was his cup of tea, as well. I was going thru his chart and on a sheet he had given us he had impeccably written his life history....schools, medical history, and military history (WWII)...that's the part that made me think of you. It was great to hear your voice last weekend. Miss and love you oodles and gobs. xoxo, ash

Just read Blayne's blog about the power bar store in Olympia, WA. Blayne - if you are reading this please let me know how to go about ordering 'many' of these bars for your brother. I'm sure we have packaged one's here that I could buy but if these are quality and Ford thinks they're the best then I say, LET'S BUY THEM!

I'm glad you are o.k Blayner. You know how much I love you and how proud of your 'growth' I am. You are an amazing young man. As an Auntie with only two nephew's, (not including the grand nephew and niece) I believe I am blessed. Who could ask for better than what I have.

Katie - you are absolutely the best. I know Blayne was needing his family for a minute and you stepped up to the plate. We are so blessed to have you as a daughter, grand-daughter, sister, niece, aunt, etc.

Ford - I love you to distraction! Be safe.

Everyone - have a wonderful and safe weekend.

Love,

Auntie Carla

Hey brother...and anyone else reading this bloggidy blog. I drove up to Puyallup to hang out with my cool sister, and your kick-ass wife, after a quick trip to Wagners Bakery in Olympia Washington....where according to Ford is where the best "power bars" in the world are made. I shared with the baker my story of my brother who is in Iraq, who is also a "health" freak, and a conneseur of quality power bars, and how he thinks Wagner's bars are the best. I could tell it made him feel good, and he agreed to give me some discount on quantity orders...which i'm pretty sure my little brother would be on like a fat kid on cake.

I had had a rough couple of days for a variety of reasons. In the end, after some time to reflect, it was mainly fear, ego, and feelings of loss. Once I started living in the present moment again, I embraced the truth that I am exactly where God and the Universe intends me to be at this moment.

I was missing my family. So I called Katie knowing that being around her and being in their house would help me feel closer to my brother, and it worked, and Baylor got some boy time.

We spent 4 hours talking, and sharing, and listening to each other. I was exactly where I needed to be, because when I woke up, I felt a sense of renewed purpose and desire.

So....Thanks Katie, I love you. Thanks Fordo...for giving me a sister.

For everyone else...Thanks for supporting them both during this time. If you haven't watched the movie "The Secret"...watch it...and the book "The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" is awesome. The "stuff" works. "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz is very good as well. The Law of Attraction was featured on Oprah a week ago.

Ford. I am so proud of you. You are an amazing soul, and I'm proud to have you as my brother.

Hey Ford, Kate, et.al.
Hope everyone had a happy and safe July 4th weekend. I worked and the jail was off the hook.

Stosh rescued another dog. This one looks like a shepard/boxer mix. One of the nurse's that works for me took him. They seem to be bonding well.

California is on fire! The temp's are well over 100 in most areas and fire's everywhere. The air is really nasty so I'm encouraging mom to stay inside. She likes to get out and do some work in the garden but now is not the time for it.

I speak of such trivial stuff and I know my nephew is in harm's way all the time. I love you sweetie and you are always in my prayers.

Hope everyone is well.

Love,

Auntie Carla

Baby...this one's for you.

Hey little brother. Just a quick note. I haven't had access to a computer since 3 July. We are on a little sabbatical, exploring some of the Oregon coast that I haven't seen. We were going to head back to Oly yesterday, but none of us were ready to go back to reality. So instead, we stayed another night, this time in a place that had a computer.

The highlight of my trip was getting my fingernail removed, because something got in my nail bed and caused my finger to swell up two times it's normal size. It was sweet when they popped the nail off, and gook came pouring out.

The Tilamook Cheese factory in Tilamook Oregon was pretty SWEET too. Nothing better than free cheese.

The weather has been pretty windy which doesn't make for good surfing. In fact today is the first really nice day...and we are headed home.

I'm working on controlling weather patterns with my mind. Unfortunatly, i'm not real good at it yet.

I'm thinking about you. I miss you. I'm praying for your safe return, and I love you.

Hey Little Brother,
Amazing that I am finally able to get into this account. Surprisingly enough, I'm sending you greetings from the technological center of the country - Stephenson Michigan. Beau and I have returned from Camp and are heading back to Seattle tomorrow so he can catch a flight to Alaska. We think of you often and pray for your safety, knowing you will be ok. I was pleased to hear that you had news from Paul before anyone else did. Nice. We love you dearly and hope to get Kate camping with us in the next few weeks. Be safe.

Good laugh

Kate - That's the best thing I've seen all month- your comments actually just gave Tehya and I a good laugh! Blayne is on his way to the airport to send Kayla to her dad's for 2 months, I spent 3+ hours in the car today picking the girls up-didn't see anything as good as your pic on our trip. We're wishing you and Ford and the rest of friends & family a wonderful fourth..... Tehya just brought me a credit card of Blayne's and said she wants to give it to Auntie Kate. You've been working on this girl-huh. As always, we're going to sleep now and you are both in our prayers.

Lots of love,
Shanna & Tehya

Awesome Dog Pic

That pic is the best! Pretty cool to see a biker dude with his dog in pink sunglasses. I thought you only saw that sort of thing in California.

Love to all,
Aunt Carla

Only in the good 'ol US of A.....

At lunch today, running errands near my office - I swear people... you can't make this stuff up! I think my favorite thing about the shot is that he is looking at me, as if I am the crazy one!

Hey Forder

Hey Bro. Just a quick note to let you know the Olympia Washington Lannan's are thinking about you.

Tehya wanted me to tell you she loves you.

We went to a "get together" on Sunday June 29th, sponsored by Tehya's pre-school/day care provider.

They got up at 0500 to barbeque a brisket and a couple of pork shoulders....Real BBQ...not the kind that us northern folk are used to.

She also put a swimming pool in the back yard, and at 100 degrees on Sunday it was timely.

Your neice is not a big fan of clothing. Three times at the gathering, Shanna and I had to remind her she had to wear clothes. She will drop "trow" at the drop of a hat. I'm not talking down to her "big girl panties." I'm talking completely butt-ass naked, in front of a crowd of about 20 people.

In fact Tehya is well known at Tracy's house for getting naked on a pretty regular basis. The kid isn't a big fan of following most societal norms involving clothing.

I hope she grows out of it before she reaches high school, or I may have a stripper on my hands.

Shanna, Tehya, Kyleigh, and myself are headed down to Seaside Oregon for the 4th of July Holiday to spend it with a former co-worker and her family.

I hope to catch up on some surfing and reading. Tehya plans on running around naked as much as possible, shaking up the Status Quo....questioning societal norms...and calling BS on as much of it as she can....kinda like her old man.

Today is the 1 year anniversary of my "spiritual awakening. Oh how my life has changed dramatically in one year.

So...in closing, if you are able to read this prior to 4 July....we all want you to know how proud of you we are, how much we love you, and that you are in our prayers at the close of every day.

I love you kid...more than you know
