Dad was in charge of photo's..but even in black and white you get the idea!!!

Another "Boring" night in Mexico

Hey Nephew!

Hi Fordo,

Aunt Sharon is a little under the weather today so I had a minute this evening. My dogs are jumping all over me so I don't know how long I'll be able to write before I have to "go kill them". They wrestle all day and all night. I have to keep telling them to cheer up!

As you can see we had a blast in Mexico! We look forward to next year when maybe you and Kate can join us.

Hope all is well with you and the team. We think of you often and miss you. God speed.

Looking forward to your return home in a few months. Got the Vette gassed up and ready to whisk you and your lovely bride off to Napa/SF/Santa Cruz for a day of fun in the sun when you visit. Better hurry though cause' I'm thinking of selling it. "Yeah right, every time I say that it sits around for another year." It's actually on it's third battery. I forget to start it so eventually the battery won't take a charge anymore - that's sad. It's crying for someone to come take it for a nice long trip down the coast.... I can hear it... "Ford (echo), Ford, come drive me! ;-) See you soon, not soon enough but soon.

Love you Ford - stay safe,
Uncle Stosh

Prepared.... we were worried they would run out of beer.

Don't believe anything Aunt Carla says, this was breakfast in Mexico!

Mexico

Ford:
Note the picture of your mom. And to think she was driving the ATV just prior to this picture being taken and I was the passenger (actually she hadn't had any alcohol when we were on the ATV's, only after). Also, note the blue glasses hanging on the front of her shirt. She didn't think the 'pink' suited her. She and your dad did the Mexican polka just after or before this photo, can't remember which.

Your dad, Uncle Stosh and Rickey Mann all have 'Master Baiter's hats and they wear them. Your dad's beard braids were awesome. They do look a bit like bug's huh? He took them out before going home. I think he should have kept them and started a new trend in Alaska.

I love you sweetie, stay safe.
Auntie Carla

Remember when you had your 1st Tequila??

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Dad's favorite store! He says they have the best bait!

Dad with "braided beard" (Looks like spiders on his face to me! Bet you are proud son!..he paid $20.00 for this!!

Hi Buddy

Fordo,

Hear ya about hump day! Mid way through you look back and go where did the time go and yet you look forward to what's left and go uuuugggghhhh!!! Hope you and the squad are all doing well. I've got to go help Aunt Sharon in the yard (honey-do stuff) but wanted to make sure you knew we were thinking of you.

Love ya,
Uncle Stosh

Funny - Wallmart Application

This was funnier as an Adobe file - actual handwriten application with the guy's picture but couldn't get it across so I hope you all enjoy anyhow.

Wal Mart Applicant revealed...
Below is an actual job application that this 75 year old senior citizen submitted to Walmart in California . They hired him because he was funny.....

NAME: Kenneth Way (Grumpy Old Bastard)

SEX: Not lately, but I am looking for the right woman (or at least one who will cooperate)

DESIRED POSITION: Company President or Vice President. But seriously, whatever's available. If I was in a position to be picky, I wouldn't be applying here in the first place

MOST NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENT: My incredible collection of stolen pens and post-it notes.

PREFERRED HOURS: 1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

DO YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL SKILLS?: Yes, but they're better suited to a more intimate environment .

MAY WE CONTACT YOUR CURRENT EMPLOYER?: If I had one, would I be here?

DO YOU HAVE ANY PHYSICAL CONDITIONS THAT WOULD PROHIBIT YOU FROM LIFTING UP TO 50 lbs.?: Of what?

HAVE YOU RECEIVED ANY SPECIAL AWARDS OR RECOGNITION?: I may already be a winner of the Publishers Clearing House Sweepstakes, so they tell me.

DO YOU SMOKE?: On the job - no! On my breaks - yes!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE DOING IN FIVE YEARS?: Living in the Bahamas with a fabulously wealthy dumb sexy blonde supermodel who thinks I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread. Actually, I'd like to be doing that now.

***Old People Rock! ***

Hello everyone

Sorry its been awhile since I wrote...we've been pretty busy. Thanks for all the love and support and here's to being half way there. When I look back it seems like the time has flown by but when I realize we are only half way done it seems like forever away...weird how that works. The weather here has significantly cooled down. It's pretty nice during the day and cools off at night. It sounds like Mexico was a blast...wish I could have been there with you guys....hopefully next year. I also am bumbed that I missed Dad Wegman's visit. We'll have to schedule another one of those when I'm home. I promise not to let your daughter work you so hard next time. We have to get Mama Wegman up there too. I' m sure you would be proud of all the work your daughter has done on the house....I was amazed....and thats from just the photographs. I also wanted to wish Mom a belated happy birthday on here. Don't worry...I called her on the actual day of her birthday. Dad, I pray that the healing process doesn't take too long and that you will not push yourself too hard. Blayner...I keep trying to get in touch with you but haven't had success so far. One of these times i'm sure we'll get to touch base. Nana, thank you for all of the cards. I'm sure you are wondering why I never write back but as anyone in my family can attest, I am terrible at written corespondance. I know.....pretty bad but I promise I will try to get one out to you one of these days. Jon....you stay classy. And most importantly...much love to my beautiful wife who is making this deployment much more bearable with all of her love and support. To everyone...thanks for your love and support. I love you all....

Take care and I look foward to seeing most of you soon.

Half way to home

Ford:
It is so great that you have reached the 1/2 way mark with this deployment. Just so you know, your Aunt's and Uncle's are thinking and praying for you on a daily basis and we can't wait to see you again.

Isn't the picture from Mexico beautiful. The restaurant is called La Chata. In the picture on the right are Ruthie (Todd's mom and Aunt Sheri's sister) and her husband Bill. Bill is a Lt. with the Alameda County Sheriff's Dept. The little girl is Lexie, Ricky Mann's granddaughter. Ricky and Uncle Stosh have been best friends for many years. They are both Master Chief's. On the left is Uncle Stosh's arm, me and your mom. Note the 'pink' glasses on your mom's head. Glasses bought in Mexico after hers went missing in the ocean.

I really hope you and Kate will be in a position to join us next year. We really do have loads of fun.

I love you Ford and pray for your safety. Hope you got the packages Gramma and I sent. Stay safe and come home soon.

Love,

Auntie Carla
Sunset in Mexico! Beautiful and soo warm. Missed you even more FM. I'm definetly counting the days DOWN! Love Mom

Cause for Celebration

Fordman and Kate -

You have both proved to be remarkable during these past few months - proof that the love you vowed to each other last year is deep and can withstand life's challenges - some small but annoying and frustrating, or some large that you have met graciously like being oceans apart for your first year of wedded bliss. Your Moms and Dads, brothers, sisters, cousins and grandmoms all are so very proud of you. We think of you daily, pray for you always and celebrate your halfway point. WOOHOO!!!!

Mamawegs says.................................

YAHOO!!!!!

FM..Besides being halfway there..Forbes says that West Point is ranked the 6th best university in the nation..and the #1 best public university. US News and World Report rank it the #1 best public university..Your value is going up!!! Can't wait to see your beautiful face!! I talk to your brother frequently. He works hard at getting me not to worry. It helps. Pop's doing well..Getting antsy about being a semi-invalid of course! He's off the Percocet so life isn't as interesting!! Haven't talked to Kate for a few days. Pop bought the Princess a Pink (real) leather cowgirl outfit. It is adorable. I can't wait for you to see her in it.I was talking to her the other day. I asked her where she was. She said "the gym" I asked her if she was working out and she replied with a hint of frustration in her voice, " Mauggie, I'm too little to work out, I'm still just 3!" Anyway..Hope things are calm. Love Mom

Today is the day, you're officially half way!

Greetings from California

Well, vacation is over. Wish it had lasted much longer but someone has to pay the mortgage and I guess that would be me so- o-o-o-o-, back to work. My staff wanted to know if they should start me on alcohol withdrawal protocol when I returned to work. Really, just because we had Drambuie (not sure of spelling) in our coffee in the morning, Corona or margaritas or pina colada's or tequila & Squirt (it's really quite good) or bloody mary's, etc. throughout the rest of the day and evening. We just had mucho fun and enjoyed the family.

April and Kurt did not get to come down because of the hurricane action in Texas and along the eastern seaboard. April's new position is connected with all that business so she couldn't leave. She will be pinning on Lt. Col. soon so will see her then.

Gramma Lois took very good care of all the animals while we were gone. Wish I could convince her to come with us but that will never happen. She just does not want to travel anymore. Guess she has earned the right to stay home if she wants to.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY (YESTERDAY) TO MY SISTER!!!

Katie girl, that kitchen is beautiful. You do good work. You and Ford will prepare many yummy meals there when he gets home.

Ford, can't tell you how much I miss you and love you. You are in my thoughts all of the time.
Be safe.

Love to all,

Auntie Carla

North Thurston Rams 12- Yelm 14

A quick update. Beaus' freshman football team lost their 1st game of the season today. They are currently 2-1.

The car ride home was a little somber, until I let him drive down a back road on the way home, and he cheered right up. Wierd!

Fordo. We Love and miss you. Looking forward to going out at 11,000ft with you soon after you get home.

It would rock to talk to you. If you ever feel like calling...my cell is always near.

Love you more than toot's steak soup

Happy Birthday Corliss!

Why am I not surprised that Pop's was the "life of the party"

Missed your call yesterday FM! I was really sad! I had to go to town to pick up a pair of glasses(forgot to mention that mine kind of got lost in the ocean!)"Why, you are asking, would you wear your glasses in the ocean?" Well ,everyone asked me that right before the big wave hit!! I learned a valuable lesson...what can I say? Older doesn't necessarily mean Smarter! I hope you get the chance to call soon. Pop is doing fairly well..I have never seen him on pain meds and I can tell you it is an adventure! They GORK him, but also make him HYPER. The combination is a bit wild! I am not sure how many people have gotten weird phone calls...I have had more conversations with him in 5 days than in years of marraige.. he gets up and tries to do laundry, dishes etc..then forgets what he's doing. I will be happy when he gets off the Percocet!! Soon, I think. Anyway..I love you very much and can't wait to see you....Mom ME.. I have the phone number you requested for the young man who's in your area. I will call you..

Missed you in Mexico, maybe next year!

We just got back from Mexico. It was a blast. We enjoyed seeing your mom and dad and had a great time with them.

As usual Tom was the life of the party. We took a party boat to Yelapa and he had all the women up and dancing. A number of people came up to me and said that he "really made the trip" a lot of fun and very memorable.

Then of course there was the "sexiest man contest". The "crew" did the representing - Tom for USA and Ricky Mann (my best buddy) for Mexico. How Ricky ended up representing Mexico I'll never know (guess because we were the only ones actually up and moving around). The boat was rockin' and rollin' a bit. Ricky and Tom came in #1 and #2 of course. The girls who were judging the contest seemed to enjoy it as did the spectators. It's all on video and there will be a small "surcharge" to ensure it doesn't end up on u-tube. Wouldn't want to have it surface if they ever decide to run for political office ;-)

The only down side to the trip was that a number of us ended up with a bug. Your mom got sick for a day, Sharon for a day or two, Carla got it a little and I had it a little bit for about a week. None of us had it too bad but Sharon's sister's husband was sick all last week and ended up at the doctor a couple of times.

All in all, with the exception of getting a little sick I think a good time was had by all involved. Hope you and Kate can join us sometime in the future.

Wish your mom and dad could have stayed for the whole vacation but Tom had to get back for surgery. I talked to him yesterday and he seems to be doing well. I know that he was in the hurt locker and can only hope that the results of the surgery will relieve some of the pain he was in. Your dad never complains so I know it must have hurt like a SOB for him to admit that "it hurt".

Well Fordo, I gotta get busy with "chores". Amazing how much stuff there is to do after a couple of weeks on vacation. I just wanted to touch base and let you know that we are thinking of you. I hope you are doing well.

Stay safe,
Love ya,
Uncle Stosh

LMAO - Redneck 911 call

Political but still interesting

You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.

You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.

You couldn't join the military and become a General after a 143 days of experience.

You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.

BUT....

'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United States Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of
experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.

We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a
start.

AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Faith, Love, and Hope

Hey Fordo, and everyone else reading this bloggidy blog.

I went to a concert at the world famous Puyallup Fair tonight.

Two Christian/Inspirational artists were on the bill.

Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith are their names. If you are looking for some inspiration or hope, check out Mr. Chapman's story. It's pretty amazing. I had a chance to have some of his faith rub off on me tonight.

This is the first concert of this type I have ever been too. I thought only sissies and ultra-religous folks went to these concerts. I was wrong....As I am commonly finding out I am regarding alot of things I thought I knew everything about not so long ago.

I was reminded once again how very important it is we treat each other with love and kindness, and to cherish each other, even in our differences. Those closest to us are our biggest teachers.

Fordo. You are my hero. Your selflessness and integrity is something I strive for each day.

Be well

I wish you peace

Fake Cow????????????

Here's the good news. Therapy is becoming more affordable.
I'm laughing at Mauggie's (Gramma Corliss) comment about Tehya 'cause I thought I'd get to do my little girl's hair pretty and dress her up in matching outfits-all the girl stuff. Not Tehya-she picks her own outfits, tells me if she does or doesn't like MY outfit for the day, and likes her hair in her face. She actually is starting to ask for pig tails the last two weeks-finally. And her dad has even commented he likes her hair.

Hope you have a wonderful time with your dad, Kate! We are headed your way today. Blayne & I are attending a Christian concert at the fair with the girls and of course riding some rides, eating good food and checking in on all the animals. I remeber last year Tehya got to milk a fake cow. The girls are VERY excited-chores are getting done quick this morning to get out of the house. I'm finishing up my last midterm.

Nice to have you join us, Grandma Treva! We love & miss you. I hope Grampa Tom's shoulder heals quick. We are keeping you in our prayers. Get home soon Uncle Ford.

New here this week- Beau's high school football team crushed their opponnents and Tehya started gymnastics again. As always we have a busy household.

Love you all,
Shanna

Pop's fine

Surgery went fairly well. The shoulder was a mess so it won't be perfect. I will give you the details when we get a chance to talk. He will have more movement and it won't hurt as much..but .. he will eventually have a procedure done that is only in the experimental stages now.. I'm sure he'll be happy with any improvement. Kate thought that you might be able to call. We will be thrilled to hear from you. My latest project is to make a bumble bee costume for Tehya..Why did I think that when I finally got a little girl to sew for that she would want Princess dresses and ruffles?? She is adament about the bumble bee thing! Maybe it will be a girl bee with a black and yellow ruffles on her butt! We sure love you FM. Can't wait to see you and am counting the days. Mom

Back from Mexico

Hi! we had a wonderful trip.. as always.. We took 4 wheelers into the mountains, ate pie in a village you can only get to by boat "Yelapa." The pie is world famous and I now know why. We swam every day in the ocean and also the pools at he hotel, shopped in the outdoor markets and the "girls" spent a day at the spa. What can I say other than I wish you were all there to enjoy it with us. Kate..beautiful job on your house! You and Ford can now come home at night and enjoy cooking with lots of room to move around. It will also add a lot of value to your home and that is always a good thing!! I know that it has also helped you pass the time while our guy is away. I know how hard it is on you and wish I lived closer so I could be there for you on days you need company or help with a project or just someone to share a meal. You are doing extremely well, but I know that some of your days are really tough.. I will blog after Tom's surgery on Tuesday to let you know how he is doing. Mom L

Good Night, Sweetheart, Good Night

Greetings from Wonderful Wyo!

Hi Ford,
I've been meaning to write a note to you for a while. Well here I am. Everything is Wyo. is good. Gail and I send love. I think about you often and you are in my daily prayers. Great news about the gov. Palin, I think she's great. I hope and pray that she is our next VP. If the other fella wins, you guys will have to replace all the transmissions in tanks with one speed forward and five reverse.
I heard a story yesterday that goes: The election in November ends in a vertial tie, both McCain and the other guy got the exact same number of votes. To break the tie, they decided to have a fishing contest and to have the contest in Alaska. Since it was November and the lakes were frozen, they had to have an ice fishing contest. Five day contest most fish caught wins. Day one McCain catches 5, Obama 0. Day two McCain 10, Obama 0. Day three McCain 7, Obama 0. Obama decides that if he is going to win he needs some help. So he call Harry Reid, senate majority leader for advice. Harry told Obama to follow McCain on day four and see what he is doing to catch all the fish. Obama follows the advice and that evening Harry asks, "did you find out what he's doing?" Obama says, "that SOS is cutting holes in the ice."
Ford, I love you dearly. Stay safe. God's speed.
Uncle John

Thank you

Never Forget!

Thank you to your team and you Ford. Love you mucho!

Going on Vacation

Hey Ford:

We are getting ready to leave for Mexico Friday. While doing some packing today you came into my thoughts and I so wish you and Miss Katie were packing to go with us.

Hope you have received the parcel we sent. Couldn't think of a hugh amount of things but bought what I thought you couldn't get there. Will send another when we return from vacation.

April and Kurt are going to come for a few days. I'm really looking forward to seeing them. Hope you and Kate will beable to meet them someday. You already know April but it has been many years since you saw her. She's an awesome young woman. Kurt is pretty awesome too.

McGee was really sick last week. His vet said his lipase level was high so he had a little bout of pancreatitis. Had to put him on a very low fat diet. He seems to like the food but it's hard finding treats that don't have a lot of fat. Anyway, he's much better now so that's a positive. He's kind of like my child so when he gets sick it really stresses me out.

Really looking forward to seeing your folks. I wish we lived closer. As Blayne said, family is all you really have in this world so you need to hold them close. I'm definitely going to make an effort to see all of you more often than I have in the past. There aren't that many of us (Olsen's) so it shouldn't be that hard.

Hope all is well with you and that you are staying reasonably safe. I love you Ford.
